Liberal Democrats are making infrastructure a central part of their agenda in Government by announcing a plan to triple the spending on roads up to £15 billion.
£350 million of the planned funding will go towards the South East with plans to tackle severe congestion on the A27 along the South Coast.
Parliamentary candidate Gerald Vernon-Jackson said,
Improving Britain’s road infrastructure is a huge priority for us. Having more well maintained roads is vital for the economy and in making it easier for people to travel from A to B quickly and safely.
But we want to go further. Liberal Democrats are the only party committed to borrowing to invest in infrastructure projects once we have balanced the books by 2018.
