Save Dial A Ride

Gerald Vernon-Jackson met local users of the vital Dial A Ride service who want it saved from being cut by the Conservative/Labour/UKIP coalition on the City Council.

A petition has been launched to save Portsmouth Dial a Ride from being closed down. Proposals put forward by the Conservative/Labour/UKIP councillors are proposing to close down the service.

Yesterday Portsmouth's Lib Dem Leader, Gerald Vernon-Jackson, met people using the service as well as drivers at the Age UK building in Buckland. He also launched a petition to save the service.

"I met elderly and disabled residents today. They told me that Dial a Ride is a life line for them. I'm shocked that the new Conservative/Labour/UKIP proposals will mean many people will be imprisoned within their own homes," says Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Portsmouth's Lib Dem Leader.

The petition can be found here.
