Lib Dems deliver £2 billion in NHS funding

The Government will soon announce an extra £2 billion in funding for the NHS next year thanks to the Liberal Democrats. As part of the deal, Lib Dems have also called for £1 billion extra for the NHS for every year of the next parliament, including £500 million for mental health services.

Parliamentary candidate Gerald Vernon-Jackson said,

“The NHS desperately needs this extra funding. Delaying this decision until after the election would have betrayed the patients who depend on the NHS.

“Liberal Democrats want to create a fairer society with opportunity for everyone. Having a properly funded NHS with equal priority for physical and mental health care is part of that goal.”

The funding will be in place from next April.
